Wonderland Is Down A Hole!

"Before Alice got to Wonderland she had to fall pretty hard down a deep hole."
I'm at a point in my life where I'm lost and don't know where I'm going, I wanted to share this because I know a lot of other people out there feel this way in all stages and walks in their lives. I feel very lucky and blessed that I know my callings and passions but I'm stuck on the how do I get there and where am I currently going? especially since it's a bit out of the box. I Facebooked one of my idols about how she got to where she is today and she made a post about it, the overall point she made really resonated with me she said it's a process which is something we all need to be reminded of.
I truly believe through every hard time comes the most positive things and that everything you go through has a reason behind it even though we may not know it at the time. During hard times it can seem easy to crawl underneath a rock and hide but that's the most important time to keep moving whether it's that you get out of bed and get dressed or you do something you love these small things should be celebrated. It's ok to feel down, be a mess and cry just as long as you get back up beautiful gem. It's also important not to listen to the hearsay of others saying what you should be doing, I had one person make a comment basically criticising and saying why wasn't I doing anything with my life, I felt upset by this but then I realised they haven't walked in my shoes and probably won't be ending up where I'm going so it's actually none of my business what they think of my life or me.

Right now I hold on to hope and my faith in the universe that super positive things are happening and are on there way and it's all taking me to Wonderland and I hope you do too! I really love this quote:

"Sometimes when things are falling apart they may actually be falling into place."

If you feel lost, stuck, don't know where you're going or the how you're not alone and eventually everything will make sense.
P.S: I highly don't recommend taking photos on your bed wearing high heel shoes! :p

Transforming Your Body!

The other week I came across a blog with a video from a young woman on "how to get a big booty and abs fast" which consisted of telling people to squat while blowing raspberries... I cringed and was deeply angered and saddened by this video because of the misinformation and ridiculousness of it. I also had a similar experience last year when I was in a health food shop and their were 2 girls in front of me one of them buying some form of detox product, her friend turned to her and said "You ready to get skinny bitch?" whether she was being serious or not I don't know, I again cringed and felt extremely angry and saddened. Quick fixes, dangerous fads and misinformation is everywhere from detoxes, losing 10 pounds in 2 weeks, diet pills, thigh gaps, ridiculous diets, false information and selling of supplements and workout equipment. The world needs to spend more time educating and helping people instead of damaging them for the sake of money and exposure.

The truth to transforming your body is a good training plan, good nutrition, rest, time and your mind set, it basically comes down to those 5 things. I highly recommend investing in a Personal Trainer to help you in your journey in giving you the right help, knowledge and support, if a Personal Trainer is not an affordable option seek out information and educate yourself from RELIABLE sources such as Strength Sensei, I also really love Little b's website.

It's not about a quick fix or changing your diet and exercise regime in one go it's about making small changes that add up to big ones which make it a lifestyle and sustainable. Everyone is different and what works for some may not work for others but there is a way for everyone but it does take hard work, determination and persistence. It will not and does not take 2 weeks, just eating salad and some fruit, a detox diet, just doing ab crunches to get abs, "squatting and blowing raspberries" or excessive exercising, quick fixes are exactly that and will eventually lead you into either giving up or into a dangerous road.

It's also important for you to realise that there are many things that play into the images you're seeing within the fitness community from some of those people having years of training, good nutrition and bloody hard work time after time under their belts, to some also having good genetics, to others who are using illegal substances, photos being photo shopped and unhealthy images... this can be the case with images of fitness competitors just before a show or their stage photos. They have spent weeks dieting down and have extremely low body fat which is unsustainable and unhealthy and are often depleted of water just before a show. They usually only hold this look for a couple of days max and then "reverse diet" after a show, they do not hold that image all year round. There is whole lot more behind the images then just what you're looking at.

Having come from Anorexia and also genetically being tiny it takes a lot of time and food to transform my body which when you're fighting a mental illness that doesn't want you to eat or gain weight it can become extremely brutal at times. When I first started training my trainer at the time told me it would take 2-3 years to get to what I wanted for my dream body, 3 1/2 years of training and I'm not there yet but I'm well on the way and have gained a lot of knowledge, strength and badassness along the way. I've experienced a lot of highs and lows through out my journey so far, my highs including 60kg 1 rep max deadlift, 10 minute plank, 34 boy push ups, squatting my bodyweight, seeing my abs, having guns to flex, smashing insane workouts to my lows including sickness, injury, crying through meals, struggling with the weight gain to build muscle and being so smashed from workouts to go home and cry afterwards. This is one of my passions/callings and has helped me with fighting my eating disorder and I treasure this journey with all my heart.

"It's about the journey, not the destination."

I wanted to write this post for everyone who has tried or thought about quick fixes and the constant messages, selling and images of it, you deserve better knowledge, help and inspiration than that. What I'm saying my seem like the hard path but it is the path most worthy, with the most results and sustainability.

There Is A Hero In All Of Us!

You fall to rise, to break to be built, to be captured to be free, to be burnt to be reborn... there is a hero in all of us.

Stick and stones may break your soul and bricks may break your bones but nothing can compare to warrior that you hold. Fighting the demons inside might tear you apart but the strength within will drive you to push the demons down a well and drown them in hell.

The world needs you to fly using the courage held inside to fight to save the broken souls of the world you know, using your heart you will help mend the fallen angels that took a beating from their past. The hero you never thought you were is now what you are.

There is a hero in all of us.

Hair Timeline!

I thought I would share my hair timeline over the last 7 years, I was obsessed with the alternative culture from about a 11 years old and became really in love with the scene culture that took off overseas around 2007. A lot of the people I followed had this crazy individual sense of style and hair that I was deeply in love with and inspired by. Around this time Paramore released Misery Business and I was fangirling over Hayley Williams and her hair (Seriously who hasn't?!?!) so when I finally was aloud to have my hair dyed at 15 I went to the salon and asked for the brightest red and yellow possible they warned me it wouldn't come out as bright as the pictures as it was salon colours. It looked nice but not really what I wanted I craved BRIGHT ALTERNATIVE hair! I was still at school at the time so I decided on more of an emo/goth look of red and black but as soon as I left school that was it, it was outrageous hair colour time b!tches!

My brand of choice... Manic Panic a lot of the people I followed were using it too, had heard good reviews and it was vegan, even better was that I found Sinister Boutique an online New Zealand store sold it! I was put on to Katie whose cut and colouring skills are out of this world, I took my ideas to her and she would chuck her ideas into it and creative magical collaborations were born... the results TRUE MAGICAL LOVE! As she went on maternity leave and I wanted to save money I started colouring it myself, you'll most likely see when this took place... (9th row of pictures down) the more I've coloured it myself the better I've gotten over time. I eventually moved away and got really lucky with Pip whose pin up Barbie hair and style I'm in love with. Her cutting and shaving skills are insanely mad and beautiful collaborations of artistic creativity were born once again.

Each hairstyle tells a story and marks a time in my life that I could never truly express through words. They tell a story of struggle, pain, tears, courage, bravery, strength, acceptance, magic, power, bad assness and my message to the world. Changing my hair is extremely spiritual to me it's like letting go of the past and embracing the next part of my journey, it's like ridding myself of pain and finding a sense of freedom, matching my inside to my outside, giving myself wings when I don't know how to fly and well it is just me... you'll understand if you don't already when you find those things in life that fuel your majestic trailblazing fire inside. My hair has never been just a crazy hairstyle to me...  it's a part of my soul.

The more I have learnt and continue to learn about myself I know that creativity is my home, whether it's through my hair, training, fashion, writing or painting it's when I feel most passionate, most alive and at times most understood... what can I say I love the weird, outrageous, out of the box things in life and the more life experiences I have the more it confirms this is who I am.

I hope this post inspires you to do the things that set your soul on fire or to find them, to be YOU, to be happy and to get that hairstyle you've been thinking of!

In the words of Lady Gaga "Living as free as my hair."
